For the fourth consecutive year the Monarch wrestling team has helped with set up and tear down for the Union County Covered Bridge Festival.   What began as a neighbor seeking help has turned into an annual tradition.

While this year's event was smaller in scale the organizers were no less appreciative.   As a coach I am proud of our wrestlers willingness to show up and lend a hand.  Understanding the importance of helping others is critical to becoming the best version of yourself, it reminds me of the following quote .

“No one is more cherished in this world than someone who lightens the burden of another.” – Author Unknown

As high school students they really can't comprehend what a an hour or two of thier time can mean to another person.   Simply moving some tables, stacking some straw or loading a van saved the event organizers in both set up and tear down.  My hope is that as young people they will continue to develop an attitude of volunteering now and as the move into adulthood.
