Coach's Gratitude-
As I reflect on this past week and the weeks to come I want to acknowledge the wrestlers who’ve wrestled on previous teams.  Sometimes we get caught up in the moment of where we are today, and we don’t take the time to acknowledge how we got there. What some wrestlers and parents may not understand is that the tournaments we compete in are by invite only. The only reason we have the opportunity to attend them is a result of  the Monarch wrestlers who came before us earned that opportunity for current teams. As a coach it furthers the expectation for us to continue to prepare and perform at a level that warrants the schedule we have, and continues to give future teams the same opportunity. I am grateful for all of the previous Monarchs, it reminds me of the need to be a keeper of the flame for our program, to do the best we possibly can for ourselves and to pass on opportunities for future teams in the same way they did for the 2019-2020 team.
 

Wrestling Recap
Dublin Coffman Dual, frankly this was as difficult of a coaching experience as I have had in a while. We were out coached, out wrestled, and overall the Coffman team fought a harder. Our coaches are committed to continue to improve and we expect our wrestlers to want to do the same. 

Top Gun Tournament
Our varsity team left Thursday night for Alliance High School for what has traditionally been one of the premier wrestling tournaments in the state.  Our team finished 14th out of 51 teams, with two placers Jack Golla 8th at 145 and Erryl Will 4th at 152. Our coaches see progress in our team when we compare the past couple weeks performance but there is still a ways to go to maximize our team's potential.

North Union Tournament
Our Varsity B team finished in 3rd Place at the North Union Varsity Tournament. This was a great opportunity for our wrestlers who haven’t quite cracked the starting varsity line up, or need an opportunity to build confidence. Individual placers

Our wrestling stats are again using Matboss to record our matches throughout the season.  Each wrestler should be able to log on to their account. If they have not created their account the will need the team code IHKFN3

Varsity and Varsity B will be wrestling Friday and Saturday this week. Varsity leaving for Austintown Fitch 7:00am on Friday, Varsity B leaving for Marion Pleasant 2:00pm on Friday 

Competition Schedule
As we begin the dual schedule it is important for parents to know that especially in JV matches we are limited to the other teams rosters.  While we certainly want every kid to have the chance to compete we don’t have any control over what other teams have available on those given evenings.
