Coach's Gratitude-
I am grateful for the way our wrestlers responded this week, we challenged them after last weeks results and they responded with improved effort and attitude in practice. I am excited to get back to work this week. With Senior night this week I am grateful for all 7 of our senior; Madison, Laila, Shelby, Jayden, Garret, Destinee and Joey all bring something unique to our program we are excited to honor them this week.
Wrestling Recap
Upper Arlington Dual- As coaches and wrestlers every time we step on the mat we want to win, it is what being a competitor is all about. That being said, Thursday’s dual vs Upper Arlington is exactly what High School sports should be about. While we dropped the match 37-34 it was a great environment in which every match mattered. The majority of our remaining schedule is dual meet format, I am excited to continue to be able to continue competing as a team.

Josh Hepner Memorial Tournament (Austintown Fitch)
The Varsity team left early Friday morning to head north to Austintown Fitch for a two day 32 team tournament, as a team we finished in ___ place. We put this event on our schedule for a couple reasons, one our staff feels like the competition in Northeast Ohio is the right challenge for our team second the format of this event allowed most of our guys to get 5-8 matches.

Our Varsity B Team participated in the Sally George Invitational at Marion Pleasant. Much like last week’s North Union tournament this is a chance for more of our wrestlers to compete in Varsity competition. The team finished ____ out of the 21 teams.

Competition Schedule
As we begin the dual schedule it is important for parents to know that especially in JV matches we are limited to the other teams rosters. While we certainly want every kid to have the chance to compete we don’t have any control over what other teams have available on those given evenings. Additionally while our JV wrestlers have not had a true JV tournament in the past couple weeks. They have three events on the horizon.
