What an exciting time to be able to return to the wrestling this week but not without caution. As cases of COVID-19 rise around the country I ask that our wrestlers continue to be vigilant in practicing good hygiene, practicing social distancing when possible, and participating in daily symptom screening. It should also be noted that if you are uncomfortable wrestling at this time that you please communicate that with your coaches.
For the short term we will continue to work in our small groups however starting this week you can attend another time slot if you miss your workout time on that day.
Wrestling only Athletes
We will move to lifting four days per week starting Monday June 29th, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Lifting times remain 6:15 am and 5:30 pm . We will also be adding two days of on the mat wrestling during these sessions Mondays and Wednesdays all athletes should bring thier wrestling shoes to these sessions.
Fall Sport Athletes
In communicating with Coach Johnson we have worked out the following schedule for Mondays and Wednesdays Incoming Freshman will come in at 8:30 am for a 30 minute session on the mat prior to lifting which will start at 9:15, football players grades 10-12 will be done with football at 9:15 and we will hold open mat sessions from 9:20-10:00
Introduction to Girls Wrestling
We will hold an introduction to girls wrestling night on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30. The same waiver is required, please forward information to any female grades 7-12 who may be interested in trying wrestling in the 20-21 season.
IT IS A REQUIREMENT that all wrestlers complete the following waiver form to be able to wrestle on the mat. If you do not have the waiver you will not be permitted to be in the wrestling room. The waiver can be found here. STUDENT WAIVER
On the horizon,
Team Pool Party on Tuesday July 7th 8pm-10pm
We will hold a whole team camp the weeks of July 13-17th the and July 20-23rd. We are still working out the exact details but this will be in the evening tentatively 6-8pm. We ask that you reflect on how much time we have missed on the mat as a team and make this a PRIORITY if possible please modify your schedule accordingly.
